What is the Hathaway Scholarship?

I often have students ask what the Hathaway Scholarship is. The Hathaway Scholarship is available for Wyoming students to pursue postsecondary education within the state of Wyoming. The program consists of scholarships with different eligibility requirements.

Students and parents are encouraged to visit with their counselor or senior advisor to discuss the program. Students interested in accessing the Hathaway Scholarship should talk to their counselor early in High School so they can prepare. A Wyoming Community College or the University of Wyoming will make the final determination for eligibility.

You can be eligible for the Hathaway Scholarship if you left school and obtained your G.E.D. The requirements are slightly different for G.E.D. students and eligibility is based on your G.E.D. score and your A.C.T. score. The College and Career Readiness Center at the B.O.C.E.S. has more information for G.E.D. candidates.
